Shoulder joint pain has a wide variety of causes. They include shoulder impingement syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, bursitis, shoulder labral injuries, biceps tendonitis, and shoulder contractures,
Although overuse of the shoulder joint may be a cause of pain, we believe that the most common cause is the positional relationship between the scapulocoracoid and humerus. When the humerus (ball) is moving in the center of the scapulocoracoid (socket), there is no stress, but when the ball is not moving in the center of the socket and the central axis is off, even slightly, up and down, back and forth, the joint is more likely to become inflamed. Repeated repetition of this faulty joint motion can easily cause damage to the intra-articular structures.
To correct this root cause, it is important to exercise the ball in a position where it does not deviate from the central axis of the socket, that is, to move the periarticular muscles of the shoulder joint in the correct ball-socket relationship.

Next is poor posture. For example, if a person with correct posture raises his/her arm and a person with a slump posture raises his/her arm, the result will be that the slumped person’s arm will be raised more poorly.
Moving the arm in this way with poor posture puts strain on the joints and can cause inflammation. Factors that tend to cause slump posture include long hours at the desk due to the spread of remote work and the increased use of smartphones, which are now a necessity in daily life. Sitting for long periods of time or maintaining the same posture can also contribute to this type of posture.
In order to improve poor posture, it is important to exercise not only muscles around scapular , but also the trunk.
In other words, in addition to shoulder joint movement problems, posture is also an important factor in the cause of shoulder joint pain.
So, I will continue to introduce exercise therapy necessary for shoulder joint pain in the next few articles.

We hope you will look forward to these exercises, which you can easily do at home.
